Vintage Lifestyle specialise in selling Original, Authentic vintage and antique decorative items for the home and garden with a time-worn look often described as "shabby chic", rustic or cottage / country style. If you are not yet familiar with this style please continue to read below:
The nature of our items is that they do show wear in accordance with age and use. Although we make a genuine effort to describe items clearly, we will not be able to list every blemish or fault in minute detail. If a fault does not affect the overall look or use of an item, it may not be noted in the description.
If you prefer items to be in "as new" condition, then"vintage" decor may not be for you. Please feel free to email us with any questions or concerns you may have.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please let us know right away if your order arrives damaged so we can work out a satisfactory outcome for you. It is very important that you retain all packing materials if your order arrives damaged. This is because the post office or courier may want to inspect the packaging before they will compensate for a damaged item.
What is Paypal?
Paypal is an online payment service. You can use your credit or debit card to make payments even if you do not have a Paypal account.
What is Google checkout and how do I use it?
Google checkout is a simple system which allows you to pay for your purchases by credit or debit card. If you do not have a Google account, you will have to sign up for one which is very easy, requiring your basic details. You only have to do this one time. If you do not already have a Google account, you will be prompted to do so when you attempt to make your first credit card purchase. With Google Checkout, buyers use a single username and password (instead of manually entering billing and shipping information) to complete purchases on stores across the web. Checkout is a free service for buyers. You can shop with confidence knowing that Google will protect you from unauthorised purchases should they ever occur. Vintage Lifestyle does not receive any of your credit card details. Another advantage to using Google checkout is that you can easily keep track of all your purchases in one place by logging into your account.
How do I make payment?
Because our items vary greatly in size and weight we can not offer flat rate postage costs and therefore we need to process each order personally. When we receive your order we will combine the delivery costs where applicable and send your invoice. Through your invoice you can click on the included link to make the payment through either paypal or google checkout. If you have chosen to pay by Bank transfer you will see our account details on your checkout page and can make the payment yourself through your internet banking. If you have ordered more than one item we will send you an adjusted total and you can then make the payment.
What are your postage / delivery costs?
Furniture and other large items
Our furniture items ( i.e.: wardobes, dressers, drawers etc.) include the delivery charge to England in their purchase price. There is no extra charge for delivery to Mainland England addresses. Any items which this offer applies to will have the message displayed at the top of the description. Delivery to Scotland is approximately £40.00. Delivery to Ireland is approximately £60.00. Delivery to France, Belgium and Luxemburg varies from £100-£200. Deliveries to Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, Austria and Portugal are charged between £200-£300. There may also be a charge if you require a delivery service other than that which we use or if your item requires special or professional packing. If you are ordering more than one furniture item, we can offer a reduced rate for combined deliveries; please email us for details.

All other items have their postage cost displayed on their description page
Delivery to non-UK addresses
Due to the varied size and weight or our items, we cannot offer a flat rate cost for postage cost for items being sent abroad. We will email you you with the postage costs upon receipt of your order.
Delivery of multiple items / Combined Postage Costs
If you are ordering more than one item, we will combine the delivery costs where ever applicable and your invoice or credit card payment will be adjusted to reflect this.
How long will my furniture delivery take?
Deliveries will be arranged upon clearance of payment.
We routinely use several delivery services for the delivery of our “furniture” items. When we receive your order details, we will determine which of the services is best for you. This usually depends on your location and the number of items in your order. Delivery services may be a "part load" delivery, which means your order will be delivered when the delivery company is next in your area with other deliveries. We will endeavour to have your order delivered between a few days and a few weeks. Scotland, Ireland and International deliveries may take a little longer though not always. If you prefer to receive your order without waiting for our “part load” delivery service, there may be a charge as our “free deliveries” are often based on “part load” services.
Will my furniture be insured against damage?
Yes, your furniture will be insured for the full purchase price. In the event that your order is damaged upon arrival, please retain all packaging and contact us as soon as possible so that we may claim compensation for the delivery company.
Can I return an item ?
You are welcome to return any item within 7 days of your purchase (with the exception of vintage clothing, accessories and vintage tablecloths). Vintage Lifestyle will not refund the postage costs unless we have grossly misrepresented an item.
Do you have a shop?
At the present time, we do not have premises and are SOLELY internet based.
Do you have a catalogue?
We do not have a catalogue. This is because our items are original vintage or antique items and we would generally only have one of an item at any time.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit and debit cards through Google checkout and Paypal and UK bank transfers. If you are paying by credit/debit card and have ordered more than one item which can be delivered together, your delivery/postage charge will be adjusted accordingly before we charge payment. We are not currently accpeting cheques due to the unsually high clearance time but if you are really stuck and have no other way to make payment please just email us and let us know. We are always happy to help if we can but please note that if we accept a UK cheque payment it will need to clear for 10 working days before your order can be sent.
I have not had a response from you?
When we receive an order we will email you with postage and payment information that same day. If you do not hear from us then we are having a problem with your email address and have had our email returned to us. It is also a good idea to make sure our email has not gone into your “anti-spam” folder.
